Amber's as Media Portfolio
title planning
In our group discussion we decided that our title should represent the main character as he fulfills both protagonist and antagonist roles. We thought of titles surrounding his name like Alistair or Murkland but settled on the simpler Murk. This is a snappier and simpler, shortened version of the detective's name and is easier for the audience to remember like iconic titles such as Scream and Saw. It also links to the meanings of the word murky and connotes some kind of darkness and unseen things like Alistair’s true personality. We created some rough notes on how our main title would look We then began talking about our title sequence and decided on a normal typeface for our film title, flashing to a handwritten one and back again. This was inspired by the two main font types in the Se7en opening and links again to the two different parts of the detective's psyche.we decided to have the title sequence finish with this as is common in most movie sequences and came up with a rough order for the titles to go in.

We then created some overlays featuring these titles to use between the clips of the opening, giving a more disjointed feel to it and then finishing the whole opening with our main title.
