We had a group discussion about the kind of locations we could use for our opening resulting in 3 main setting choices.

The first would be the setting for our murder which would be a house, this would be one of our houses and would probably take pace in the bedroom or bathroom.

The next would be Alistair's house. We initially decided on him waking up from the nightmare in bed, but due to the unavailability of a suitable bedroom we decided on having him wake up on a sofa surrounded by his work, solidifying the image that he is overwhelmed by work as he fell asleep doing it and allowing us to use one of our houses as a more accessible location.

We then thought about Alistair's work environment as he is a detective who should work in a police station. Due to the unavailability of this setting we thought we may use the Thomas Clarkson Academy building or the Wisbech Oasis Centre as both have meeting rooms that could be made to look like interview rooms and are both easily accessible to us for filming. However after emailing the Wisbech Police Station we discovered that we would be permitted to film for a short time, under supervision and in restricted areas, the correspondence can be seen below.
